How do I download and install my Soundbox pack?

When you purchase a Soundbox pack from Kompose Audio, you’ll have two easy ways to download it.

Pulse Downloader App (for MacOS and Windows)
After your purchase, you’ll receive an email with step-by-step instructions to download and install your product using the Pulse downloader app. This is the best option for desktop users on MacOS or Windows.

Direct Download Link (for iPad)
Log in to your Kompose Audio account on your iPad after completing your purchase. Open your order and you’ll see a Download button to get your Soundbox pack as a ZIP file directly to your iPad.

Important Details
Each product can be downloaded up to 5 times and the download link is valid for 24 hours after purchase.

If you need more downloads or the link expires, just email us at info@komposeaudio.com and we’ll reset it for you.

How to Open ZIP Files on Your iPad

Open the Files app and find the ZIP file you downloaded.
Tap the ZIP file and it will automatically unzip into a folder with all the files inside.

Installing your Soundbox pack is easy!

Open Soundbox, click on User Sounds, then click on Import Pack and select the .sbpack file that you have downloaded, click open and that's it!

What software do I need to use this product?

This product requires the free Soundbox player (version 1.0.4 or higher) by Audiomodern. Download Soundbox here. You can learn more about the Soundbox here.

Kadence for Soundbox has an iPadOS version, but we can’t guarantee its performance yet, so it’s not officially supported. For the best experience, we recommend using Kadence on macOS or Windows PC.

What’s the difference between the Kontakt and Soundbox versions of Kadence?

Great question! While both versions share the same stunning vocal and pad layers, they’re built on entirely different platforms, each offering unique features and benefits.

Kontakt Version
The Kontakt version of Kadence includes 8 smart controllers that let you sculpt the tonal character of the vocals. These controllers - Magic, Space, Shimmer, Tone, and Depth - give you creative control over elements like pitched shimmer delay, brightness, and overall depth.

Soundbox Version
The Soundbox version doesn’t include these specific smart controllers because it uses a completely different sound engine. However, it offers more control over individual layers, allowing you to adjust volume, attack, reverb, and filters for each layer. It also includes Vector mode, which lets you morph seamlessly between four layers for dynamic, evolving textures.

A key advantage of the Soundbox version is that it’s compatible with iPadOS, making it perfect for mobile music creation.

Sound Quality
Both versions sound almost identical. For the Soundbox version, I’ve carefully resampled every note of the Kontakt version to retain all the magic and sonic depth. Whether you’re using Kontakt or Soundbox, you’ll experience the same ethereal beauty and expressive power.

Why is there a £5 charge if I already own Kadence for Kontakt?

Kontakt and Soundbox are different platforms, and Kadence for Soundbox offers unique controls plus the added benefit of iPadOS compatibility. The £5 fee covers this extra functionality and bandwidth costs.

Kadence for Soundbox has an iPadOS version, but we can’t guarantee its performance yet, so it’s not officially supported. For the best experience, we recommend using Kadence on macOS or Windows PC.

The Soundbox interface makes it easy to shape your sound. Each layer is fully adjustable with ADSR, effects, modulation, arpeggiator, and a versatile vector pad for morphing through layers with various vector shapes. Plus, you can quickly tweak volume, panning, and solo/mute layers on the main page, giving you total control to sculpt the soundscapes to suit your project. Once you've perfected your setup, save your unique presets using the intuitive and easy to use browser.

Adding new packs to Soundbox is a breeze! Head to the User Sounds menu, enter the preset and pack manager, click Import, and select the downloaded Soundbox Pack (.sbpack file) and you're done!

Important: Kompose Audio Soundbox packs work fully with the Soundbox player, except for the Sample & Mapping editor, which is for importing and editing your own sounds. To unlock this feature, enter the license key from any Audiomodern Soundbox instrument in the settings tab. Once unlocked, it stays active forever and includes free lifetime updates.

MPE & Multi-touch demonstration

Soundbox supports MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) and is also Multi-touch enabled, making it one of the very few audio samplers offering both MPE and full multi-touch support.
