The Sample & Mapping editor can be unlocked through the settings tab, by entering a license key that comes with any Audiomodern Soundbox Instrument. Once unlocked, it stays unlocked permanently, with no need for further upgrades, as it includes free lifetime updates.

How do I download and install my Soundbox pack?
When you purchase a Soundbox pack from Kompose Audio, you’ll have two easy ways to download it.
Pulse Downloader App (for MacOS and Windows)
After your purchase, you’ll receive an email with step-by-step instructions to download and install your product using the Pulse downloader app. This is the best option for desktop users on MacOS or Windows.
Direct Download Link (for iPad)
Log in to your Kompose Audio account on your iPad after completing your purchase. Open your order, and you’ll see a “Download” button to get your Soundbox pack as a ZIP file directly to your iPad.
Important Details
Each product can be downloaded up to 5 times, and the download link is valid for 24 hours after purchase.
If you need more downloads or the link expires, just email us at info@komposeaudio.com and we’ll reset it for you.
How to Open ZIP Files on Your iPad
- Open the Files app and find the ZIP file you downloaded.
- Tap the ZIP file, and it will automatically unzip into a folder with all the files inside.
Installing your Soundbox pack is easy!
- Open Soundbox, click on User Sounds, then click on Import Pack and select the .sbpack file that you have downloaded, click open and that's it!
Can I move Soundbox content to an external SSD?
Absolutely! To change your Soundbox content folder to a new location, please follow the instructions below.
- Open Soundbox and click the cog icon (top left) to access settings.
- In the bottom-right under "Sample Library Location," click the three dots.
- Choose a new folder and create one named "Soundbox."
- When prompted, confirm the move by clicking Yes.
Will Kompose Audio Soundbox packs work on my iPad?
Whether a Soundbox pack works on your iPad depends on the specific pack. Some packs are larger, with longer samples and higher memory requirements, while others are smaller and lighter on resources.
For the more intensive, larger packs, I recommend using at least a 2022 iPad Pro or newer for the best experience. Smaller packs with shorter samples tend to run smoothly on devices like the 2016 iPad Pro.
To make sure a pack will work with your iPad, check the recommended specifications listed on each product page.
Why am I being asked to enter a license key?
All Kompose Audio Soundbox instruments are fully compatible with the free Soundbox player (version 1,0.4 or higher). This is the standard version of Soundbox that you can download directly from the Audiomodern website.
Important: You do not need to click the UNLOCK SOUNDBOX button in the settings. You can simply skip this step. Here's what you need to do:
- Open the Soundbox player and navigate to the User Sounds tab.
- Click on Import Pack and select the .sbpack file you downloaded.
That’s it! The pack will be imported and ready to use.
For example, if you've downloaded the Lumen pack, the file will be named Lumen.sbpack. This is the file you’ll import into Soundbox.
What is the UNLOCK SOUNDBOX Button For?
The UNLOCK SOUNDBOX button is only used if you purchase a Soundbox pack directly from Audiomodern and want to unlock the advanced features of the Soundbox player, such as sample import and mapping functions. These features are not required to use Kompose Audio Soundbox instruments.
Important Note for Older Versions of Soundbox
If you’re using a version of Soundbox earlier than 1.0.4, you may be prompted to enter a license key to unlock Soundbox. Don’t worry—there’s an easy fix! Simply update Soundbox to the latest version from the Audiomodern website. Once updated, you’ll be able to import any Kompose Audio Soundbox packs without needing a license key.
Keeping your Soundbox player up to date ensures the best experience and compatibility with all our instruments.
Do Kompose Audio Soundbox packs unlock the full features of Soundbox?
Kompose Audio Soundbox packs work fully with the Soundbox player, except for the Sample & Mapping editor, which is for importing and editing your own sounds.
To unlock this feature, enter the license key from any Audiomodern Soundbox instrument in the settings tab. Once unlocked, it stays active forever and includes free lifetime updates.
Kontakt
What software do I need to use Kompose Audio Kontakt Instruments?
All Kompose Audio Kontakt Instruments require the full paid version of Kontakt 7.10.1 or higher. They will not work in the free Kontkat Player. If you try to use the instruments in the free Kontakt Player, it will display as DEMO mode.
You can purchase or upgrade to the full paid version of Kontakt at Native Instruments at the link below.
https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/samplers/kontakt-8/
If you are trying to load a Kompose Audio instrument in the free Kontakt Player, you will see 'Kontakt PLAYER' displayed at the top left of Kontakt.

Will Kompose Audio Kontakt Instruments work on my system?
Great question! I actually create all my Kontakt instruments on my trusty 2013 Intel iMac 3.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 with 24 GB Ram. Yep, it’s over a decade old! But there’s a good reason for that. With Open Core Legacy Patcher installed, it’s still a fantastic setup, and it also lets me develop and test on a system that’s often less powerful than the ones many users have. This way, there’s a nice buffer for system requirements, so whether you're using an older or a newer, more powerful setup, it should perform smoothly.
As with all Kontakt instruments, performance depends on the effects and modes used. While I can’t promise perfect compatibility with every system, I can tell you that all Kompose Audio Kontakt Instruments run beautifully on my over-10-year-old iMac!
You can find out more about how to optimize system performance for Kontakt Instruments by clicking on the link below.
What is the difference between a Kontakt Instrument and a Kontakt Library?
Kontakt Instruments
If you own the full version of Kontakt, you can use any Kontakt Instrument.
Kontakt Libraies
If you have the free Kontakt Player, you can only use Kontakt Player Libraries.
Can I add it to the Kontakt Libraries tab?
Our instruments do not display within the Library tab of Kontakt. You will need to load our instruments using the Files tab or Kontakt's Quick-load browser.
Please see our support section for guidance on how to load our instruments in Kontakt.
How do I load my instrument in Kontakt?
You will need to load our instruments using the Files tab or Kontakt's Quick-load browser.
Why is my product showing in 'DEMO' mode in Kontakt?
All Kompose Audio products require the full paid version of Kontakt 7.10.1 or higher.
If you are seeing DEMO mode after opening a Kompose Audio Kontakt Instrument, it is more than likely because of one of the following reasons:
- You do not have the full paid version of Kontakt 7 or above and you only have the free Kontakt Player installed.
- You have the full version of Kontakt 5 or 6 but you are loading the instrument in the free Kontakt Player 7 or above. In this situation if you want to use the Kompose Audio instrument, you will need to upgrade your full version of Kontakt 5 or 6 to the latest full version of Kontakt.

Kontakt Windows and Mac OSX Compatibility Guide
Can I get a refund if I have the wrong version of Kontakt?
If you've purchased a Kompose Audio product that requires the full version of Kontakt and are seeing 'Demo Mode' when loading the instrument in the free Kontakt Player, this means the instrument is not compatible with the free version. Our products clearly state the software requirements on each product page, right below the 'Add to Cart' button, as well as in the support section.
Please note, we cannot offer refunds if you do not have the full paid version of Kontakt, as we have no way to verify if you're only using the free Kontakt Player.
To avoid any issues, we kindly ask you to double-check the software requirements before making a purchase. Unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds if the required software is not available on your system.
Optimizing System Performance for Kontakt Instruments
System performance depends on various factors, including your computer’s specifications (processor, RAM, hard drive type, etc.) and the settings in your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), such as buffer size and multi-processor support.
In Kontakt, performance can be impacted by the number and type of effects used within an instrument. My instruments make good use of Kontakt’s effects to shape their unique sound, some of which, like Replika, are more CPU-intensive. Additionally, some instruments use Time Pro HD, which also requires more processing power.
Another key factor is the number of Kontakt and virtual instrument instances running in your project. As more instances are loaded, the demand on your system increases.
For reference, I create all my Kontakt instruments on a 2013 Intel iMac with a 3.4 GHz Quad-Core i5 and 24GB of RAM. Yep, it’s over a decade old - and that’s intentional! Developing on an older system allows me to ensure compatibility with a range of setups, often less powerful than many users’ systems today. So, whether you're on an older or a newer, high-powered setup, you should experience smooth performance with Kompose Audio instruments.
While I can’t guarantee compatibility with every system, I can confidently say all Kompose Audio Kontakt instruments run beautifully on my iMac, which is over 10 years old!
Helpful Tips for Improving Performance
- Enable Multi-Processor Support: In Kontakt, go to Options > Engine, and set multi-processor support to match the maximum number of cores in your system. This can significantly improve performance.
- Optimize Buffer Size on Newer Macs: Setting the buffer size to 128 samples on newer Macs can improve performance by ensuring processing stays on performance cores instead of efficiency cores, which can slow things down.
- Use Track Freezing in Logic Pro: Freezing tracks in Logic Pro is a handy way to free up CPU by temporarily "disabling" instrument or effect plugins on a channel strip. When you freeze a track, Logic converts your software instrument track to audio, reducing the real-time processing load. You can unfreeze tracks any time to make further edits. This is an effective method to improve performance in larger projects with multiple virtual instruments.
You can also freeze tracks in Cubase, Ableton and Pro Tools, see links below for more infomration.

Can I change the attack time within some of the instruments such as Time 1 and Time 2?
Some of my instruments such as Time 1 and Time 2 have a long attack time and this is very much by design. They are created to slowly evolve, build loop over a long period of time.
However, you may prefer to have a quicker attach time and you can so this by following by clicking on the link below.
How do I make the Library Image appear in Kontakt?
Match the Folder Names
Make sure the folder in NI Resources\image has the exact same name as the folder you imported into Kontakt.
Example
(1) After downloading Arcturus Nova, you’ll get a folder named Arcturus Nova.
(2) The download also contains a folder named 'Image for Library Browser', which contains the library image file.
(3) Copy the folder containing the image (also named Arcturus Nova) into the NI Resources\image folder.
Important
The imported library folder in Kontakt and the image folder in NI Resources\image must have the same name for the image to display correctly.

Can I use Kompose Audio products for commercial projects?
Yes, you can! We encourage you to use our sounds in your commercial projects. Just be sure to follow these important guidelines:
Sharing or reselling our products
While we love the idea of collaboration, sharing our products with friends or reselling them isn’t allowed, as it’s considered piracy. Each license is for individual use only, so please make sure the files stay with you.
Creating new sample libraries
Our sounds are crafted to inspire your compositions, not to be reworked into new sample libraries for commercial sale. Please don’t use them to create or distribute new sound packs.
Using sounds in compositions
Kompose Audio products are designed for creative music compositions, so it’s important to use them within full tracks. Distributing music that features just a single note or isolated sound from our libraries would go against our EULA.
By following these simple rules, you’re all set to bring your creative projects to life with Kompose Audio! Happy composing!
Do you offer education discounts?
While I don’t currently offer education discounts, I’ve focused on keeping everything affordable. My instruments range from just £3 to £25, this way everyone can access my instruments at great value.
Plus, there are extra savings available! Get 20% off when you purchase multiple Kapsule instruments and the Supernova Bundle gives you 20% off everything!
The Solos range, especially, is a perfect way to get started with my instruments at a really accessible price point.
Do you offer a loyalty discount?
That's a great question! Instead of the usual loyalty discount model, I focus on keeping my instruments consistently affordable for everyone. While many other companies offer loyalty discounts, their products are often at a much higher price point, where such discounts make a bit more sense.
For me, maintaining these low prices is essential and adding additional discounts could make things a bit challenging. I hope you understand!
I’ve received a lot of positive feedback about both the instruments themselves and the accessible pricing, which I’m thrilled to hear. As a way to show appreciation, I often run a free product deal exclusively for existing customers, which I hope you’ll agree is a pretty great offer!
Can I change the attack time within some of the instruments such as Time 1 and Time 2?

Do you run sales throughout the year, such as Black Friday sales?
At Kompose Audio, we believe in keeping things simple and fair. That’s why we don’t take part in sales such as Black Friday or other similar types of sales throughout the year.
While it’s completely understandable for companies to offer discounts on more expensive products, our instruments are already priced to be affordable every single day - without ever compromising on the quality of our instruments.
Rather than big discounts once a year, we focus on consistently providing exceptional value, so you can access inspiring instruments for your music whenever you need them.
That said, we’re always looking for ways to give you even more value. With bundle pricing and tiered discounts available all year round, you can enjoy additional savings on top of our already affordable prices.
Thank you for supporting our passion for creating exceptional instruments, every day of the year
Can I get a refund?

No problem! We offer full refunds for any digital library purchase within 14 days of the purchase date, as long as you haven't downloaded it yet. Just contact us at info@komposeaudio.com and we will get your refund processed quickly.
Already downloaded?
Once a product has been downloaded, we’re unable to offer refunds. This is because digital products can’t be “returned” in the traditional sense and there’s no way to guarantee they won’t still be used after a refund is processed.
