Lumen – Endless Textures is a captivating new ambient soundscape instrument designed for Soundbox, Audiomodern's new and innovative MPE sampler.

With Soundbox player freely available to everyone (starting from version 1.0.3), you can explore Lumen's soundscapes without needing any license activation. Simply download the Soundbox player from Audiomodern’s website and dive right in!

Lumen offers 8 stunning soundscape instruments, perfect for adding depth and drama to TV and film compositions, or any music that needs rich, immersive ambient textures. It's also ideal for creating soothing atmospheres in meditation, relaxation, and healing music, bringing a sense of calm and beauty to every note.

Each of Lumen’s 8 presets is composed of 4 lush, never-ending soundscape layers, recorded from a collection of vintage synths enhanced with a range of effects. The result? Dynamic, evolving textures that shimmer with sonic richness.

Lumen is more than just an ambient pad instrument - it's a sonic journey. Each preset blends chords and single notes, morphing into lush, evolving soundscapes. Designed for depth and movement, it’s perfect for those seeking immersive, ever-changing textures. If you’re after straightforward, single-note pads, Lumen might not be your match but if you love sounds that unfold and transport, this is for you!

The Soundbox interface makes it easy to shape your sound. Each layer is fully adjustable with ADSR, effects, modulation, arpeggiator, and a versatile vector pad for morphing through layers with various vector shapes. Plus, you can quickly tweak volume, panning, and solo/mute layers on the main page, giving you total control to sculpt the soundscapes to suit your project. Once you've perfected your setup, save your unique presets using the intuitive and easy to use browser.

Adding new packs to Soundbox is a breeze! Head to the User Sounds menu, enter the preset and pack manager, click Import, and select the downloaded Soundbox Pack (.sbpack file) and you're done!

Important: Kompose Audio Soundbox packs work fully with the Soundbox player, except for the Sample & Mapping editor, which is for importing and editing your own sounds. To unlock this feature, enter the license key from any Audiomodern Soundbox instrument in the settings tab. Once unlocked, it stays active forever and includes free lifetime updates.

MPE & Multi-touch demonstration

Soundbox supports MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) and is also Multi-touch enabled, making it one of the very few audio samplers offering both MPE and full multi-touch support.

More than I hoped for.

Sometimes you get a plugin because a promo found you and something about it caught your attention. Rarely it turns out to be what you hoped for. Lumen is one of those, and more. There is so much life and emotion in those sounds that you run the risk of staring into the void and lose sense of time, but I expected that. What I did not expect was that it would be so useful, with a variety of modes and tonalities so that you can find the perfect fit for about any situation. This is designed by people who know what musicians need. Highly recommended.

Newby wonders how to use an external USB keyboard with the app in Garageband.

Hi Arjen, Thank you for your review of Lumen and I am so pleased you like the sounds.

To setup a MIDI keyboard, simply click on the cog icon located at the top left of the Soundbox UI and in there you will see any connected keyboards in the MIDI Inputs section. You need to click on the small dot to enable your keyboard, if it is listed in the settings.

For further assistance with Soundbox, you will need to contact Audiomodern directly who are the developers of Soundbox.

Hola. Compré el producto pero veo que las notas no corresponden a las del piano y tampoco se puede armonizar. Los acordes vienen preestablecidos.

So, many of my instruments are designed as ambient soundscape tools, featuring source samples that blend chords and single notes, morphing seamlessly together. This intentional design creates their deep, lush, and evolving character. Each preset is crafted as a sonic journey rather than a traditional single-note playable pad. If they were designed as standard single-note pads, they would lose their unique depth and dynamic evolution. They are deliberately not tied to specific harmonic keys, as avoiding this limitation was a key goal during development.
