Sparks - Tiny bursts of inspiration

The Korg Wavestation was released in 1990 by Korg and quickly became one of the most innovative digital synthesizers of its time. It followed on from the legacy of the Korg M1 but introduced a completely new approach to sound design called wave sequencing, allowing users to step through multiple samples over time rather than triggering a single static waveform.

Sonically, the Wavestation is best known for its lush, evolving textures and cinematic soundscapes. Its ability to blend and morph between layered waveforms created pads that felt alive and constantly shifting, perfect for ambient, film, and atmospheric music. The built-in vector synthesis added further movement by letting users dynamically mix between four sound sources, resulting in rich, immersive tones that remain iconic in electronic music production.

Sparks are inspiring, fully playable micro-packs for Soundbox, created to ignite new ideas the moment you touch the keys. Each preset is brought to life using Soundbox’s powerful effects, dynamic modulators and intuitive vector engine, delivering expressive sounds filled with movement and character.
